Perris is a rapidly growing city offering a small–town atmosphere and thriving business climate for young professionals and their families. Positioned for continued growth, the city is currently undergoing downtown redevelopment and is now home to several expanding and relocating businesses.

Located just 80 miles from San Diego and Los Angeles, Perris has evolved into a rapidly growing city from the small village it was in the 1800s. The area's warm climate and favorable location along the I–215 freeway have attracted many new businesses and residential development.

Perris offers all the neighborhood amenities that residents would expect to find in a larger city, including a hospital, library with a teen–tech center, a 10–screen movie theater and churches of all denominations as well as a variety of shopping centers.

Education takes a priority in Perris; the city serves over 20,000 students from elementary to high school. Within the Perris Elementary School District and the Perris Union High School District there are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and four high schools.

Residents will never lack activities in Perris with the nine parks offering basketball courts, softball and baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, tennis and handball courts, soccer fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas with barbecues.

Take in a round of golf at one of the many nearby golf courses. If you prefer the water there is plenty to do at Lake Perris State Recreation Area. Enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, or scuba diving in the lake. Or decide to hike, bike, horseback ride, or rock climb in the park.

For those thrilled by speed, spend a day at the Perris Auto Speedway with dirt track, high speed motor cross and auto racing. Or take to the skies with a hot air balloon or skydiving.

Cultural enhancement comes easily in Perris with its several museums including the March Field Air Museum, Orange Empire Railway Museum, Ya'I Heki' (Home of the Wind) Museum, and the Perris Valley Historical Museum.
